Firstly, if you are not pledged to a Dragon Rider tier or a Commander/Warlord tier, this update is not directed at you. Only these two tiers come with a portrait, so please feel free to disregard this update. Thank you!
The time has come to once again check in on you folks! You're one of the 18 who pledged to a portrait tier for Wraithmarked's "The Book of Remembrance" campaign (either as a character portrait or character + dragon portrait)! We're reaching out to you to check in and make sure our message is seen - since you folks have additional information and files needed to fully fulfill your pledges, we require some extra correspondence.
Please email us at [email protected] with the subject line "[YOUR RANK] Portrait for The Book of Remembrance" and attach the image(s) you'd like the artist to reference. Please also include your name. For Dragon Riders ONLY, please also tell us your dominant hand, as well as if you'd like your name "Alagaësia-fied" by Christopher Paolini. WE MUST RECEIVE THESE IMAGES NO LATER THAN FRIDAY DEC. 5, 2025 at 11:59 PM EASTERN, OR WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET YOUR PORTRAITS INTO THE BOOK.
AN EXAMPLE: John Smith who backed at a Commander/Warlord tier would send us an email labeled "Commander/Warlord Portrait for The Book of Remembrance" and include their name in the body of the email. Jane Doe who backed at a Dragon Rider tier would send us an email labeled "Dragon Rider Portrait for The Book of Remembrance" and include their name in the body of the email, their dominant hand, and if they'd like their name edited by Christopher or not.

Today, and likely at least once a month until the survey deadline in January, we'll be taking a moment to remind everyone how you can access your pledge. Even though we're still a ways off from fulfillment, it's never a bad idea to hop in to make sure your shipping information is up-to-date! Hey all! Bryce here! I just wanted to take a second to shout out a project I think some of you guys will find (like I do) genuinely cool!
I know Matt Dinniman's DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL has been everywhere for a couple years now, but it's for good reason. I've read the first 4 books of the series, and had to stop because I was enjoying it so much it was starting to effect my own writing. I'll be picking it up again as soon as I'm done with my current project!
The series is genuinely one of my favorites of the last 5+ years. It's genuinely just a boatload of fun.
If you're interested, Matt currently has a Kickstarter running where you can pick up not only Vol 2 and 3 of the series, but also a special Vol 1 edition that wasn't available on the first campaign!
As you can see, I've already backed for my double limited edition bundle, and I'm psyched! So yeah, I just wanted to shout this one out because it's genuinely such a good and fun series, and I hope some of you go check it out if you have the time!

Hi there, everyone!
We have a bit of information here for you today, so... buckle up, grab a drink, put on those reading glasses (lookin' at you, fellow millennials), and let's get started!
Firstly... the importance of Surveys...
For folks who aren't new to crowdfunding via Kickstarter and Backerkit, this may be redundant. For folks new to Kickstarter, Backerkit, crowdfunding in general, etc., this is possibly the most important element to a pledge.
What is a survey?
A survey is a form sent via email to all backers for the purpose of collecting necessary information in order for that pledge to be fulfilled. Sometimes it's just an address - we need to know where to send your goodies! In other instances, such as THE BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE, it is much more than an address.
Due to the nature of this campaign, we need folks to input names (if applicable), and we need those names sooner than later because the names—YOUR names—are the backbone of this book. We need to collect surveys and names BY 11:59PM EST ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 15TH AT THE ABSOLUTE LATEST. For folks who have a portrait included in their tier (looking at you, Dragon Riders and Commander/Warlords), that deadline is even sooner: FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5TH.
Missing this deadline may result in your name NOT being included. We will post several check-in updates to remind folks, but we cannot complete your survey for you!
Since opening surveys, we've received A LOT of tickets from folks asking some easy-to-answer things and some not so easy, involving more correspondence back-and-forth. Most of the time, we only have one person handling support (hello, it's me, Heather!), so we ask in this instance for some extra reading and some patience so we can handle everyone's questions and tickets in a timely manner.
As it stands now, we typically try to answer support inquiries within 3-5 business days (excluding US holidays). We operate from 8-4pm EST, as well. This upcoming week is also a holiday for us in the states (Indigenous Peoples Day <3). If you have sent in a support ticket or a Kickstarter message this week, please do not submit another one. We have likely received it, but due to the sheer amount of folks reaching out to us (there's 8k+ of you!), it will take some time to be addressed! If you have not received a response 14 business days out from your request, you may send in another one. (Business days do not include holidays or weekends!)
This will not be forever! There's simply a lot of moving parts with this campaign, and support is a bit more involved this time around. We want to make sure y'all get helped thoroughly and left feelin at ease. <3

Thirdly... some commonly asked questions (regarding surveys and names)...
These are some questions you may not find in the campaign FAQ... Since opening up surveys, we've gotten lots of questions - some easier to address than others. We wanted to put together a quick cheat sheet for folks just in case your concern may fall under one of them! If your issue requires us to provide assistance, please feel free to send a ticket to [email protected] and we'll help you out! Please note: if you send us a message on Kickstarter, you will be prompted to send us an email instead!
Q: My card was declined during the Kickstarter and now I'm afraid I've lost my pledge. Did I? A: Nope! Your pledge should still exist. When a payment fails to process via Kickstarter, your pledge will have a balance due and likely won't show up under the "Backed Projects" tab. This happens frequently when backers choose Pay Over Time and have a lapse in payment. To remedy this, we will credit your Backerkit survey the amount taken from Kickstarter (if applicable) and send you a survey link. You will be responsible for paying the entire amount at once, though, so plan accordingly!
Q: My card was declined. How do I fix this? A: Unfortunately, we're not able to interfere with Kickstarter while they're processing payments. For more info regarding declined cards/payments prior to surveys being sent, please check out Kickstarter's Pledge Over Time help page here or their support page here. After surveys have been sent via Backerkit, you should be given a notification that your card has been declined. If so, you will need to input a new payment method. This is also something we cannot help with and you must contact Backerkit Support directly here.
Q: I've misspelled my name - help! A: This goes without saying (but I will anyway)... please please please be sure to double and triple check the spelling of all submitted names! We can absolutely help you rectify a mistake, but that requires us to unlock your order, wait for you to make those corrections, and make sure your order gets locked again. It may not sound like a lot, but we've gotten more of these tickets than you'd think. It's an easy fix, just a time-consuming one!
Q: Should I include my rank in my submitted name slot? A: You may do so, yes. We may end up nixing the titles in front of folks names in the end for numerous reasons, but in the event we do not, you may write it in the submitted name slot in case.
Q: Will "Please enter one name here..." show up on my name slot in the book? A: No! Not unless you write it in yourself. -.- (please don't do that)
Q: I wasn't prompted to give names for my add-ons! The survey is broken! A: It is not! You'll need to go through your wholesurvey to get prompted the name questions for add-ons. Your pledge/tier will be asked first, then your add-ons separately.
Q: I completed the survey but I wasn't asked for a name, why? A: On the name submission page for your pledge/tier, we ask if you'd like to submit a name or not. If you were not prompted to input a name, then you selected "No, I would not like my name inside the book." We can help you if this was a mistake.
Please make sure to read what you're clicking!
Q: I still haven't received a survey/I have an AppleID. Help! A: Be sure to check your spam folder and your trash! Lots of folks accidently delete or overlook this email. It will come from Backerkit, not from Kickstarter! (check your email for [email protected])
If you are a backer with an AppleID, you will need to contact us directly to get that fixed. We can update your email for this campaign only and send you a survey link. Please provide us with either the AppleID, the name on your account, or your pledge number. If we cannot locate your pledge, we cannot help you!
Q: I ordered a book as a late pledge but I wasn't asked for a name. Help! A: If you're unfamiliar with late pledges, we can totally see why this would be distressing! Once a campaign funding period comes to a close and Kickstarter has processed payments, the fulfillment portion moves over to Backerkit. Once it does, ALL items on the campaign become a la carte, meaning there are no tier selections, no bundle deals (unless explicitly offered on the late pledge page), and every item is unique to itself. Meaning... if you want a book and a name included, you must have a book and a name in your cart before you complete your order!
Q: I want to make changes to my pledge. Can you help? A: We typically do not allow changes to tiers or the like. It's additional back-and-forth, it can influence our numbers if product has already been planned for or purchased, etc., and in most cases, involves exchange of funds/additional charges. It doesn't hurt to reach out and ask though, and if it's something we can help with, we will!
Fourth... and finally!

Remaining Surveys Going Out!

Hey there, folks!
Since the smoke test was a success, we'll be sending out ALL remaining surveys today! It may take a little bit for Backerkit to process them (some of you may even receive them closer to the weekend), so we appreciate your patience!
Just to reiterate a couple of the tips from our last update, if you don't see your invite email show up by the end of next week, please take a look at the following:
Spam Folder: Survey emails can occasionally find their way to your spam folder. If you don't see anything come through from Backerkit check your spam folder first.
Apple ID EmailAddresses: If the email address tied to your Kickstarter account is a secure Apple ID address, the survey email may be blocked entirely. The email addresses look something like this: "[email protected]". If you're not seeing the email from Backerkit, check to see if your email address looks like one of these. If it does, we recommend that you first change that email in Kickstarter so you avoid any future issues.
Once you've checked both of those things send us a message here or send an email to [email protected] to let us know what your updated email address is.
If you are a Late-Pledge backer (if you choose to back this campaign after the funding period comes to an end), you will not receive a survey as all necessary information we need is collected upon check-out!
Going Forward
Here is what you can expect in the coming months as we work on fulfilling this project.
First, please remember that we operate on a 12-14 month production and fulfillment schedule.
As we get all of the products made, you can expect to see an update from us one to two times a month. So stay tuned here for all the latest!
Once we have the products and are ready to start fulfillment, we will post an update and send an email giving everyone 48 hours to update their addresses if needed. Once that window closes, you will not be able to update your address yourself and will need to contact us directly to make those changes.
With addresses locked, we will start packing and shipping. This final step will take some time. We appreciate your patience. ❤️
Pledge Over Time - 3rd Payment

Hey there everyone!
Final Pledge Over Time Payment!
We wanted to check in real quick to let all the Pledge Over Time folks that they should be expecting to see the third (and final!) charge for their pledge today or in the next few days.
As a reminder, if you have questions about the Pledge Over Time feature, you can visit this help center article for more information or reach out to Kickstarter’s support team here.
Please be aware that the times mentioned above are estimates. We try to stick to them as much as possible, but sometimes it takes an extra day or two to move on to the next phase of the process.
Preparing to send out Surveys...
Also, we're just about ready to start sending out surveys, but the last piece of that process is what's called a smoke test. To do this, we send out surveys to about 5% of backers to make sure everything in Backerkit is working as it should and that we haven't broken anything. We'll be conducting this test over the next 24-48 hours. If everything goes well, you can expect the rest of the surveys to go out by Monday at the latest!
While we do that, here are a couple of things to keep in mind:
